Getting Mail, Love Notes and the Importance of Support

Let me just say, I LOVE GETTING MAIL!  Always have.  I love going to the mail box, the unknown of what waits for you in that little box.  Anyone from anywhere could have sent you anything.  Who was thinking of you, when will the sweater you ordered arrive, birthday cards, catalogs….love it!

Since I have arrived here in Denver my love for checking the mail box and receiving mail has increased, three-fold.  And I have received some pretty cool stuff!  My life coach, Kelly, sent me some garland to pretty up the place.   The classy AF Jones’ sent me some flowers (not exactly mail, but still awesome).  My BFF, Jen, sent a super soft and snuggly scarf.  Sweet Emily sent me a post card from Spain while there with her mother.  And my suga, Giselle, sent me a lovely tea towel playing to my love of the outer banks…AND, the love notes from my party!  I have loved receiving, using and displaying these things…and even more I appreciate the love and support that arrived with all of these treasures.

Let’s get back to those love notes Giselle sent.  My sister, Madeline and Giselle threw me an incredible going away party the weekend before I drove out of Richmond.   I had the opportunity to see a lot of people that I hadn’t seen in quite some time say good bye to so many amazing friends.  At that party Giselle set out a stack of cards giving guests the opportunity to write me  a “love note”, words of encouragement, and/or something ridiculously funny…all to keep me smiling. While in Denver, when having a hard day or a rough time the idea is that I pull and read one of these cards and realize that I am not alone, that I am strong, have a laugh and/or remember all the awesome people back home that love me.  Here is just a sampling below.

I may or may not have scanned through most of them, and I adore them all!!  They are sitting front and center in the living room and will be used as they were intended…should the need come.  Such a thoughtful idea and a heart warming gesture by everyone who wrote me a “love note”.  Thank you!

I am still completely in awe of the amount of love and support I have felt, and continue to experience, from all of my friends and family (and even some strangers) during this move.  It means so much to know that so many people believe in me, are standing behind me, love me and are proud of me.  It makes the hard days a little less hard.  It reinforces my belief that I can do this.  It all means more than I can express.  And I hope you all know that I love you, support you and am here should you ever need me…well, here in Denver.  I love you.  And again, thank you.
