The Red Rocks Introduction

Saturday morning I met Kathryn out at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre for some seat lifting exercise.  And that it was.  I had never been to Red Rocks, but it did not disappoint.  The rock formations are gorgeous and, of course, perfectly shaped for an amazingly beautiful venue.

The seating are wood benches built into the sloping rock, and THAT is what exercise junkies who frequent Red Rocks leverage for workouts.  People were running up them, walking up them, jumping up them, running along the bench, then along the next bench, doing leg lifts, arm dips, stationary stepping, pushups, and so much more.  There were tons of people there, including several boot camps. Some folks were even climbing the landscaping boxes that run up the side of the seating area.  They gradually get taller but at slower intervals, so you have to climb each one.  I did not try this.  As a newbie, I walked up them twice and jumped up them twice.

Honestly, climbing these to get out of there was probably the worst of it.

Kathryn and I want to make this a weekly routine, though tomorrow will be rainy and cold…so not tomorrow.

But, I have been trying out a Crossfit Gym whose Saturday workout was a lot of fun.  Tomorrow morning I plan to try out another gym a little closer to me.  Then I plan to make a decision and commit to a box.  Annnnd then I will need to find a yoga studio.

After CrossFit last week, and Red Rocks, I went home and died until about 2pm.  Then it was time to start preparing for my first visitor!!!!
