I apologize up front for no pictures.
Girl dates, boy dates, friend dates….Minnie needs a date.
In an effort to be as transparent as possible with this post lets just jump in and and get through it. I had a date…actually two dates. I don’t even know what a date is anymore. I haven’t been on a date in over a year. One was more successful than the other so I’ll provide some high level information and update with any promising progress. No jinxing.
We met on Bumble. Let’s call him RV. While not widely used in Richmond, Bumble sure is here. After a few private messages we spoke on the phone, exchanged some texts and 5 days later we met for sushi at Go Fish (http://gofishdenver.com). Three hours later I could feel my bedtime calling my name. But the date went surprisingly well…attractive guy, great conversation, great food and butterflies. I guess he thought it went well too because he asked me out again and we brunched on Sunday here: http://www.elcaminotavern.com/.
Now let’s not everyone get too excited. Stay tuned.
The other date went well also, but no connection. However, I am hoping to stay in touch and get involved with some group hikes he puts together.
Right around this time I decided that it may be a bit early to be out on the Denver dating scene. I need to establish some friendships and a life of my own here before diving into a relationship. Another thing I feel like I know nothing about anymore – relationships.
Sooo…instead of deactivating my account I changed my settings from the dating side of the app to the Bumble BFF. Let me tell ya….this thing is genius!!! GENIUS!!!
Bumble BFF connects you with other women who may have the same interests as you and are new in town and looking for friends or are wanting to expand their social circle. You scroll through, much like a dating app, read about the person and choose to connect with other ladies who may be someone you’d click with on a friendship level. I think it’s great.
Shannon and I started a conversation and she had started a conversation with Kate, so we all met up later Saturday night. Shannon is new in town and Kate is looking to expand her social circle. They were great, good conversation, laughs….it was the first time since I have been here that I felt like I was back home. Just sittin around with some cool chicks talking shit. We’ve texted a bit since and hopefully we can get together this week or weekend.
I also had the opportunity to hang out with Kathryn on Saturday this weekend. We did mani pedis here: http://www.naildaylodo.com. One of the best nail, places I have ever been to. Amazing!! Then we headed a couple blocks over to Marg’s Taco Bistro (http://www.margstacobistro.com) to grab some guacamole and tacos for dinner (which I took a picture of and must have deleted-fail). So yummy! THAT will become a staple for me!!
Sooooooo boy dates, girl dates and friend dates. The last few days have helped me feel more at home, started to validate that I may have made the right decision in coming to Denver and introduced me to some awesome people! Spring in Denver is starting off right!
