I feel like every Saturday is turning into Boozy Saturday, but Saturday June 25th (yes, I realize how far behind on blogging I am) was all about the annual Highlands Street Fair. It looked like it was going to be fun..and it was. The event is in a cute little part of the highlands, home to shops, restaurants, bakery’s, and neighborhood watering holes. For the Fair the streets were lined with food vendors, craft and retail vendors, there was a band and it went on for blocks. Honestly, looking back, I am not sure what time we arrived. Maybe 1pm. It was Glynnis and I and another girl we have met in the building, Jessica. We had one mission, cocktails.

We strolled the fair for a while trying to decide what to eat and had each picked up a Tito’s lemonade from the Tito’s tent. We ended up in Cafe Zuri (www.cafezuri.com) each with a Czech Mule…which were delicious. Then headed out into the fair in search of food. I did buy a head band and some organic treats for Minnie. And then we hit the mother load. TURKEY LEGS!!! The biggest I had ever seen. And that was lunch.
That and this enormous rice crispy treat!!! Check out all the available options sitting on that table. This will go down in history as my favorite festival I do believe.
We left the Fair to meet up with a couple of Glynnis’ friends from DC at Union Station. We ended up at Machete (http://machetedenver.com/) for some (lobster) tacos and then meandered on down to Breckenridge brewery (http://www.breckonblake.com/) for some libations…and yes, I ate again. But just some nachos. At Breckenridge, Natasha and two of her guy friends met up with us. The group was growing, how FUN! Then…First Draft. LOVE that place! Some of the group left after we’d been there for a little over an hour and four of us stayed for another hour or so. The eight people closest to the camera here were with our group. That’s First Draft

When we finally decided to head home, probably around 9pm, we passed by The Viewhouse (http://www.viewhouse.com/) and decided it looked like so much fun that we HAD to go in. The Viewhouse is a few blocks from my apartment and is mainly a hangout for belligerent 20 somethings…but we were hammered, so it WAS fun.
That was my first all day, fun day with a great group of folks. It felt good to walk the city with a group of friends and pop in and out of restaurants and tap houses. I want to do it again! BUT, Sunday was a waste. I was supposed to hike with my cousin but bailed and spent most of the day in bed. Womp womp.
